That happened mostly by accident, actually.

I last spoke to him in person in Goldenrod, on the 25th. And I last spoke to him on the Pokégear on the 1st, and he was in Ecruteak. Did you arrive after that? Perhaps he's spending all of his time working, and forgetting to look at his Pokégear. This wouldn't be the first time.

I think I came here the 2nd, so I guess I just missed him... [ Yeah, she's frowning a bit now, but not at Cecil.

The second part of his sentence is met with understanding. ] Somehow, that doesn't surprise me.

By a mere day, too... Then again, he seemed rather shocked, after his egg hatched. He was standing in place and staring at the newborn, and it seemed like he could not hear us. He might be deliberately hiding from others at the moment.

[ ...Okay, so not weird that the two Squall look-alikes both had hatchings around the time she showed up. She's ignoring that for the moment. ] What was wrong with the baby?

I have no idea. Nothing, I think. It looked quite healthy for an electric lion. No worse than the other Shinx that hatched these last few weeks, as far as I can tell.

Electric lion? [ Wait, no, focus on the important thing here. ] You think it could have freaked him out or something?

I don't know. One moment he was talking about the new year with Suzuki, and the next his egg was hatching. He just... said something and stared blankly.

...Hmm. [ Weird. But it wasn't like she always understood Squall, anyway. ]
